Reforms to vocational qualifications - more choice and flexibility
The Qualifications and Credits Framework (QCF) is a new way of recognising skills and qualifications in all colleges.
This is good news for learners as routes for studies and accumulation of credits towards qualifications will be much simpler.
It will be made up of qualifications and units that will replace the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in 2010. It will include a variety of qualifications split into groups according to size – for example: Awards (1 to 12 credits), Certificates (13 to 36 credits) and Diplomas (37 credits or more) and levels according to the content of the studies.
To find out more, visit: www.qca.org.uk
Many final qualifications haven’t been confirmed by Awarding Bodies however Warwickshire College will still be offering courses of different sizes and at different levels in the majority of our subject areas, just as we always have done.
Please apply as soon as you can for the course of your choice and we will keep you informed of any changes resulting from the QCF activities.
