Commercial Units

There are three commercial units at the college that operate as both learning resources for students and as commercial business open for sales to the trade and horticultural industries.

While studying at the college horticultural students will have access to these units and the techniques, procedures and management systems they use to operate.

Avonbank Nurseries
A wholesale plant Nursery that grows a wide range of trees, shrubs, herbaceous and other plants. The Nursery sells to the trade but does have four sale days a year when the public are invited. They also hold a national collection of Penstemon.

Avonbank Fruit
Produces and sells a range of top and soft fruit, asparagus, fruit juices, cider. The public can purchase these products through the college Plant Centre. There is also pick your own available in the summer.

Avonbank Glass
Grows flowers and seasonal bulbs, bedding and pot plants. These can also be purchased at The Plant Centre.
